Welcome to Vanubuntu’s documentation!

Welcome to Vanubuntu’s documentation!#

Vanubuntu is a set of modified Ubuntu builds that removes the original Ubuntu branding and modifications from the system. It includes vanilla GNOME, GNOME Boxes virtualization software, Gnome Connections remote desktop software, Flatpak, KDE Connect support (using GSConnect), and more. VanubISO is the only tool available to build Vanubuntu, and it allows adding so-called “toppings” which add some extra software. If you used vanubuntu before, Flatpak and GSConnect are installed and locked into the build via toppings.

VanubISO and any official builds are licensed under GNU General Public License 3.0 or later. Feel free to fork VanubISO for yourself to create your own distro!
